In a genuine surprise, Ruby Dee of “American Gangster” beats Academy darling (and double SAG and Oscar nominee) Cate Blanchett as well as Amy Ryan, who have split pretty much all of the previous awards in this category. Did they also split the vote here? Would love to have seen Harvey Weinstein’s face.
