The Avengers are fighting a new masked villain and his name is “John Gazelle.”
Disney-owned Marvel claims that’s the name used by the online culprit who leaked the trailer of its upcoming superhero opus, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” almost a week early.
The studio wants to force Google to help it track down the “alleged leaker,” claiming that a user named “John Gazelle” uploaded content from the trailer to his Google Drive account, according to court papers.
Disney’s lawyers sent Google a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act on Oct. 22 demanding the search giant immediately take down the file, the documents show.
But Disney is going a step further by asking a California federal court to issue a subpoena to Google to force it to turn over the IP address linked to the user’s YouTube and Google Plus accounts.
Marvel initially joked about the leak — tweeting a humorous “Dammit, Hydra” reference to the dangerous criminal organization from its comic books — before releasing the official trailer.
Dammit, Hydra.

The trailer of the much-anticipated superhero franchise was supposed to debut during an episode of “Agents of SHIELD,” another Marvel property that airs on Disney-owned ABC.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news of Disney’s request for a subpoena on Wednesday.
