Aspiring filmmaker Anderson (Alex Holdridge) — who’s too unsuccessful even to qualify as marginal — meets a Norwegian dancer (Linnea Saasen) on holiday in the title country, loses her, and meets her again in Berlin.

Written and directed by Holdridge and Saasen, and shot over the course of four years, the movie essentially retells their off-screen relationship.

A subplot about the foundering relationship of Anderson’s friends Stephen (Rupert Friend of “Homeland”) and Friederike (Jennifer Urlich) has most of the laughs as well as the poignance. Friend and Urlich are more charismatic than the leads, even with less story to work with.

There are no surprises, but for once there’s a set of artsy millennial characters who feel like real humans, and Berlin looks great.
