The soap opera that is The Weinstein Co. has taken a new twist with a report that “Soul Man” will be the next and apparently the last title TWC title distributed by MGM, which has handled most of TWC’s major releases for the past three years amid growing disenchantment from Harvey The brothers’ deal was widely expected to end at the end of 2008, but now word comes that MGM will no longer handle Kevin Smith’s “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” out Oct. 31, as well as “Killshot,” “The Road,” “Fanboys,” “Crossing Over” and “Shanghai,” all of which are scheduled to hit theaters before Dec. 31. We’ll see. Just last week, TWC handed “Igor” back to its producers for MGM release.
