Michael Keaton is in talks to return to the role of Batman in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie “The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller, The Wrap reported Monday.

The 68-year-old actor first played the Caped Crusader in 1989’s “Batman” and 1992’s “Batman Returns,” both directed by Tim Burton. His most recent venture into comic-book territory was as Vulture in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” part of Disney’s rival Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During Keaton’s 28-year hiatus from playing Bruce Wayne and his crimefighting alter ego, the part has been taken on by George Clooney, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and soon Robert Pattinson in “The Batman.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner could appear as Batman in several more DC films. “The Flash” is out in theaters June 3, 2022.
