The catastrophe in Japan has forced filmmaker Takashi Miike to cancel his visit to New York for a 13-film retrospective at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater March 17-20. “He sends his sincere regret,” according to an announcement on the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Web site. Before coming here, Miike was scheduled to present his new film, “13 Assassins,” at the SXSW festival in Texas. “Miike and his family are OK,” according to the SXSW Web site, ” but travel was not possible at this time.”
