Disney’s “Moana 2” reigned at the box office for the third straight Friday, as the animated musical starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson saw $6 million in ticket sales, according to The Numbers.

The sequel has already pulled in nearly $317 million since it debuted Thanksgiving weekend.

Girl power was also on display as “Wicked” took a close second, with $5.8 million in sales to start the weekend.

In a disappointing third place was “Kraven the Hunter,” which debuted with $4.7 million in sales, including
$2.2 million in previews.

Sony’s first R-rated comic book movie, which stars Russell Crowe and Ariana DeBose, was expected to take in just $10 million to $12 million over the weekend, one of the worst openings for a film based on a Marvel comic book character, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Gladiator II” remained in the fight in fourth place, with $2.2 million in receipts.

In fifth place was the anime adaption of JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.”

The pre-trilogy tale, which takes place 200 years before the War of the Ring and cost just $30 million, collected $2 million in its first night on screens.
