I’m probably the only contributor to this blog who’s been eagerly awaiting the trailer for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” – but then, I’m also the only one who’s ever been a teenage girl.

The trailer premiered on MTV Sunday night, revealing an unfortunate (if not unexpected) possibility: director Chris Weitz may be making this movie into “The Golden Compass 2.” What’s with the cheesy CG wolf? Are they not done yet, or is that really how it’s going to look?

Weitz is the man who ironed all the edge out of that Philip Pullman classic – somebody, please, bring Catherine Hardwicke in for a consultation on this one. At least the “Thirteen” director knew what we were really all showing up for.
