Thanksgiving month seems like a good excuse to trot out this delightful, Oscar-winning MGM Technicolor short, which turns up from time to time on TCM and is on the DVD release of “The Prisoner of Zenda.” Prudence Penny, who bails out an incompetent housewife here, was the pseudonym used by the author(s?) of  a syndicated cooking column that was still running as late as the ’60s. The narration is by Pete Smith, who produced three sequels.
