Dec. 19 marks the tenth anniversary of James Cameron’s “Titanic,” which I first saw at a massive old theatre in Cape May, N.J. Today in The Post, I look at the blockbuster’s records, the reasons why we may never see its likes again and the public’s waning affection for Cameron’s film, which is not getting any anniversary showings. “Titanic” made Leonardo DiCaprio one of Hollywood’s highest-paid and most sought-after stars and earned Kate Winslet her first Oscar nomination. Ten years later, we still haven’t seen Cameron’s next narrative features, though he’s directed several documentaries.
