I picked the winners in 16 out of the 24 categories on Oscar night, a respectable showing. The top prognosticator at both the Gurus O’Gold and the Gold Derby (I’ve belonged to both groups in the past) was Pete Hammond with 19 correct predictions. Kris Tapley, Steve Pond and Paul Sheehan got 18; Tim Appello, Thelma Adams, Scott Feinberg, Michael Musto, Tom O’Neil, Bob Tourlette, Peter Tavers and Chuck Walton all had 17. Congratulations to them all.

In a tie with me with 16 right were Emanuel Levy, Mark Olsen and Ann Thompson. I did better than Anthony Breznican, Greg Ellwood, Dave Karger and Susan Wloszczyna (all 15); Jeffrey Wells (14); Eugene Hernandez (12); Sasha Stone (11) and David Poland (10).
