The Boston Society of Film Critic has chosen “No Country for Old Men,” no doubt the first in a long string of awards from critics groups. (The Los Angeles Critics Association will be heard from later today). More interestingly, the Beatown crix gave Best Actor laurels to Frank Langella, who apparently has never won a major film award, for playing an aging novelist in the low-profile “Starting Out in the Evening.” Best Actress honors went to France’s Marion Cotillard for her Edith Piaf biopic “La Vie en Rose.” Best Director was Julian Schnabel (“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”) and the rest of the awards are here.
