Former Oscar winner Michael Moore got a big thumbs down from the academy’s doc branch, which left his paen to socialism, “Capitalism: A Love Story,” off the 15-title shortlist for Best Feature Documentary today. Also snubbed were docs about a couple of people you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley, James Toback’s “Tyson” and the Anna Wintour doc “The September Issue.” IndieWire has a list of who actually made the cut, which will eventually winnowed down to five actual nominees.
