As the number of documentaries continues to explode, the list of high-profile snubs on the academy’s short list for academy features also grows. This year’s 15 title list, unveiled today, does not include “My Kid Could Paint That,” Jonathan Demme’s “Jimmy Carter: Man From Plains,” the Ron Howard produced “In the Shadow of the Moon” and “The King of Kong.” Michael Moore’s “Sicko” did make the cut, as did three docs on the Iraq war and four distributed by ThinkFilm.
