The closest thing to a surprise in today’s just-announced nominations for the Producers Guild of America Awards for best theatrical feature is the appearance of “The Town.” Ben Affleck’s romantic heist thriller hasn’t been mentioned much lately by Oscar prognosticators, who mostly have been predicting that “Winter’s Bone,” snubbed by the PGA, would get the so-called “tenth” Best Picture nod.

The other nine nominations for what’s formally known as the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures — the PGA expanded its field to 10 last year, matching the academy — are the ususual suspects pretty much everyone has agreed on since before Thanksgiving: “127 Hours,” “Black Swan,” “Inception,” “The Fighter,” “The Kids are All Right,” “The King’s Speech,” “The Social Network,” “Toy Story 3” and “True Grit.”

In the animted feature category, the PGA nods go to “Despicable Me,” “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Toy Story 3” and the documentary nominees are “Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer,’ “Earth Made of Glass,” “Inside Job,” “Smash His Camera,” “The Tillman Story” and “Waiting for ‘Superman.’ “

The winners will be announced on Saturday Jan. 22 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
