There are a few surprises on this morning’s nominations list from the Producers Guild of America. Three films largely ignored in last month’s critics awards — “District 9,” “An Education” and “Star Trek” — join usual suspects “Avatar,” “The Hurt Locker,” “Inglourious Basterds,” “Invictus,” “Precious,” “Up” and “Up in the Air” in the expanded list of 10 nods for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures. Not surprising they snubbed “Nine,” but where’s “The Blind Side”? “A Serious Man”? The PGA’s animation nominees are “9,” “Coraline,’ “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and of course “Up.” For documentaries, PGA nods go to “Burma VJ,’ “The Cove,” “Sergio” and “Soundtrack For a Revolution.” The PGA presents its awards on Jan. 24.
