I’m not sure whether it’s good or bad for Sony and David Fincher’s “The Social Network” that its trailers have inspired a number of parodies a month before the opening. The dead-on one below is the funniest one I’ve seen. And it’s actually quite hilarious in spoofing the melodramatic tone of the genuine trailer.
While “The Social Network” itself appears to have nailed the zeitgeist, I should note that this isn’t necessarily the road to victory at the Kodak Theater. I said the same thing about a pair of former Oscar frontrunners, last year’s “Up in the Air” and “Milk” the year before.
