“Live Free or Die Hard” doesn’t open until midnight Tuesday, but here’s my three-star review from today’s paper. While the Bruce Willis reboot has generated tremendous buzz, it’s expected to come in a second distant next weekend to Pixar’s latest superb cartoon, “Ratatouille” from “The Incredibles” director Brad Bird, which is expected to open at around $60 million versus a figure in the 30’s for “Die Hard.” The next big summer title, Michael Bay’s “Transformers,” arrives at 8 p.m. on Monday July 1 — and Variety already has a review up, out of the Taormina Film Festival. Expect the first reviews of the new “Harry Potter,” opening July 9, out of its world premiere next Friday in Tokyo.
