Ricky Gervais is staying in business with Netflix.

The star of “Derek” will write and direct an original movie, “Special Correspondents,” that will premiere next year on the streaming service.

Eric Bana (“Star Trek,” “The Time Traveler’s Wife”) will star in the comedy as a struggling, “decadent” New York-based radio reporter who, trying to save his job, fakes front-line war reports from his apartment, which is situated over a Spanish restaurant in Midtown Manhattan.

Gervais (“The Office,” “Extras”) is not slated to appear in the movie.

“Derek,” in which Gervais plays the helper at a nursing home, has run for two seasons on Netflix.
