Update: IndieWire has corrected the opening date to July 11, a month after the HBO showing.

ThinkFilm will release the documentary “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desire” in theaters on June 11, two days after it airs on HBO, IndieWire reports. Good luck to ThinkFilm’s Mark Urman — who’s been whining about the difficulty of getting overworked critics to review all his movies — trying to get movie critics to review a movie that’s already been reviewed by TV critics. The ones around here are already pissed that HBO gave “Wanted and Desired” a stealth run in upper Manhattan (without even telling us, much less sending screeners) to qualify for the Oscars after it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
