For those who don’t know, Reynolds starred as the sword-wielding Deadpool in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” a Fox production of characters from Marvel comics. “Green Lantern,” on the other hand, is a Warner Bros. production of characters from a DC comic. This sort of cross-hero pollination has never happened, mainly because the competition between DC and Marvel is not a particularly friendly one, as I

a couple years ago.

So now, while Fox is busy developing a Deadpool spin-off movie, Reynolds goes and accepts another super hero role with a rival studio featuring characters from a rival publishing house. That would be like the CEO of Coca-Cola being photographed at the company picnic swilling a Pepsi.

And to make matters worse, both “Green Lantern” and “Deadpool” are scheduled to hit theaters around the same time. Is this news going to force Fox to move/cancel “Deadpool?”
