Just like its former distributor the struggling MGM, The Weinstein Co. has hired a consultant to explore restructuring its debt and raise more operating funds. The embattled studio hasn’t had a wide release since “The Reader” (total domestic gross: $33 million) expanded following the Oscar nominations in January. The next films on the TWC schedule are “Inglourious Basterds” on Aug. 21 and “H2” the following week. We’ll see if they actually open then.
