In the runup to “The Wolf Man,” there has been a lot of talk about great werewolf movies of the past. One that seems to have been forgotten is “Ginger Snaps,” a 2000 chiller directed by John Fawcett. It concerns two Goth sisters, Ginger and Brigitte, who are outsiders in their Canadian high school.. Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) is bitten by a dog-like creature and slowly turns into a werewolf — complete with tale, which she tucks inside her panties. The film won a prize at the Toronto Film Festival, and proceeded to become a cult hit. It spawned two sequels, which were less successful. The original “Ginger Snaps” is available on Netflicks and shows up often on cable TV. Look for it.
