He starred in the original, but Kyle MacLachlan tells the Post he had no idea that there was a sequel to camp classic “Showgirls” underway.

Scratch that: two sequels underway. 

One which appears to have been shot (in German, no less), and another that is in the planning stages. 

“I haven’t heard of this,” MacLachlan says. “It sounds interesting, but I haven’t heard of it. I wish them luck.”

He’s also mystified by the critical thrashing “Sex and the City 2” received. He played Charlotte’s husband Trey on the original series.

“I don’t really understand it. That movie was about revisiting the girls, and the lives and the world they created. I went to see the movie and enjoyed it. I think it was made in the spirit of good fun and nothing more.”
