The Weinstein Co.’s latest movie, “Sing Street,” is about two Irish kids who start a band in the ’80s.

It sounds suspiciously like it’s based on the lives of U2’s Bono and The Edge, and the music connection doesn’t end there. Weinstein partnered with Universal’s Republic Records to release songs from the coming-of-age flick from director John Carney. Republic put Adam Levine and two newcomers, Hudson Thames and The Score, on the soundtrack.
