“Red Lights,” Rodrigo Cortes’ followup to his Sundance sensation “Buried,” is a laughably hokey thriller about a pair of scientists (Sigourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy) trying to expose a celebrity psychic (Robert DeNiro in full paycheck/ham mode) who’s making public appearances for the first time since the mysterious death of one of his critics 30 years earlier.

Any pretense at seriousness goes out the window early on, as Cortes pulls out every cheesy horror trope in the book over two hours (unusually long for a Sundance film). There’s lots of shouting, special effects, and silliness as the film works its way to one of the more ridiculous endings I’ve seen recently.

Weaver manages to hold onto her dignity (even with a cornball subplot about her long-comatose son) in a film that sometimes resembles “Ghostbusters” (without the intentional laughs). But DeNiro is now the leading candidate for The Post’s annual Turkey Awards.

Elizabeth Olsen, this year’s Queen of Sundance, has a small, thankless role as Murphy’s love interest/helpmate.
