‘Sunshine’ Finally Sells
There were sky-high hopes for “Sunshine Cleaning” before its debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. A pair of its producers were responsible for the 2005 Sundance smash “Little Miss Sunshine,” but forecasts of a $10 million sale for the new one went out the window when buyers got to see just how dark this comedy about a pair of sisters (ascendant stars Amy Adams and Emily Blunt) who clean up crime scenes actually is. New distributor Summit just snapped it up for $4 million, $3 million less than the production cost, Variety reports. And it just may have a new title when Summit releases the flick late this year or in early 2009.
