Overhyped “brainy” comic Demetri Martin — recently on the cover of the terminally-unhip New York Magazine — introduced this trailer for Ang Lee’s “Taking Woodstock” on Martin’s Comedy Central show last week. Martin, who does not appear to have much big-screen presence based on the trailer, plays Eliot Tibor, who became involved in getting a permit for the Woodstock Film Festival 40 years ago this summer. Eugene Levy, Imelda Staunton, Leiv Schreiber and Emile Hirsch co-star in this counter-culture celebration, which Focus is planning to release on Aug. 15. At this point, I’m more excited about the extended version of Michael Wadleigh‘s documentary “Woodstock,” out on Blu-ray June 9.
