Lucasfilm announced yesterday that the six “Star Wars” films are getting re-released in 3-D starting in 2012. Yay?

There’s been a lot of griping in recent years about how George Lucas endlessly exploits his greatest creation, cynically milking every penny out of the sci-fi franchise, instead of creating something new, and this news is unlikely to quiet the complainers. 

Will you pay to see these movies again? Will you choose to see some of the movies (“Empire”) but not others (cough, “Phantom Menace,” cough)? Will junk dealer Watto be even more racist in 3-D?
