South Korean Western “The Good, the Bad, the Weird” is full of shout-outs to classic action films, as V.A. Musetto points out in his review – besides the obvious Sergio Leone influences, he says, you’ve got “Ben Hur,” “Mad Max” the Indiana Jones movies and John Woo. It also, apparently, features the Wilhelm scream, which I’ve written about in the past. It’s a long-standing cinematic schlock tradition. Haven’t had a chance to see the full movie yet, but see if you can find it in the trailer. Hint: it’s before the halfway mark.
