But it’s a very bleak indie with some dramatic credibility issues. After a two year absence with from her family, she goes to live with her sister and the sister’s new husband, who are spectacularly insensitive stereotypes.

As for the cult scenes, where the leader (played by John Hawkes of Winter’s Bone) sleeps with all the young women, somebody noted they all looked like Abercrombie models. Asked about the movie’s commercial prospects, one exhibition exec gave a thumbs down.
