“The Avengers” will become the first summer blockbuster to close the Tribeca Film Festival in several years on April 28 with a special screening with cops, firemen, other first responders and the military as special guests.

“We are proud that ‘The Avengers’ is the closing film of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and we are excited to welcome local heroes to the screening as special guests,” said Marvel studios producer Kevin Feige.

Directed by Joss Whedon, “The Avengers” stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johannson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgaard and Samuel L. Jackson.

The film will have its world premiere on April 11 in Los Angeles.
