One of the nice things about the Tribeca Film Festival is that you don’t have to be downtown, or even in New York, to participate. The virtual Tribeca Film Festival offers a way to catch the movies and red-carpet events online. Some require payment, but a lot of the choicest events don’t, including red carpet coverage of movies like “The Killer Inside Me” (at which stars Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba are expected to appear) and Neil Jordan’s film “Ondine,” which is expected to attract star Colin Farrell). Let me know if you spot the often-grumpy festival co-founder Robert De Niro, who comes across as surprisingly chatty in Cindy Adamscolumn today. Cindy went to the opening-night Vanity Fair party at which drastic cost-cutting measures — no din-din for the A-list! — were spun as part of the fun.
