An unknown film by Charles Chaplin has been discovered in Britain — on eBay. The Guardian of London reports a man named Morace Park found an item labeled “old film” and bought it for the equivalent of $5.35. The “old film” turned out to be a seven-minute Chaplin movie called “Zepped.” Experts say it was a propaganda piece intended to defuse fear of airship raids of Britain by Germany during World War I. Now the film, on fragile nitrate, must be transferred to film.
