Vanity Fair and Politico have now picked up on the epic story of how I was uninvited — sorry, not invited in the first place! — to a critics’ screening today of the Sarah Palin-praising documentary “The Undefeated.” As always, publicists: You can’t stop unfavorable coverage from happening and attempts to muzzle disfavored writers will backfire. Vanity Fair asks: Why would I want to see it twice? I reply: I didn’t! But it’s my job, and anyway I thought it only sporting to give the movie another shot now that it’s had been buffed and polished for commercial release. I had hoped the movie’s flaws would be fixed.
