Jean-Luc Godard devotees are keeping their fingers crossed, hoping the Great Man will honor the New York Film Festival with his presence when his “Film Socialisme” unreels there in the fall. The fest says Godard, now 79, has been invited but has yet to respond. Godard is noted for his reclusiveness, and often cancels planned appearances at the last minute. I’m hoping he makes it to NY this time.
