Roadside Attractions’ "The September Issue"

In today’s Post I offer up an amused three-star review of the new R.J. Cutler documentary about the making of Vogue, “The September Issue.” The star, Vogue’s celebrated and feared editrix Anna Wintour, is far too clever to be caught on film berating the help or anything along those lines, but the movie comes reasonably close to giving you an inside feel for what it’s like to put together what would be the largest issue in Vogue’s history, the one that debuted in September 2007. And Cutler wisely comes up with a hero, or at least a Jan Brady, to face off with Wintour: Chief stylist Grace Coddington. Fashion junkies will love this film.
