The flick, a reboot of 1941’s “The Wolf Man,” which was deemed a “dark and toothless January mess,” by IndieWire, is expected to take in $12 million through Monday.

“One of Them Days,” which Deadline called “an affable romp,” took second place, with sales of $4.4 million.

The female buddy comedy stars Keke Palmer and singer SZA in her film debut.

The two “have a playful chemistry and their onscreen relationship instantly feels lived-in and deep,” Screen Rant gushed.

On its fifth Friday in theaters, “Mufasa: The Lion King” fell down a notch to third, taking in $2.5 million.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 3″ also fell down a spot, landing in fourth place, with a $1.7 million take.

In fifth was “Moana 2,” which was released on Nov. 27, with sales of $1.2 million.

Last week, an animator filed an “at least $10 billion”-dollar lawsuit against Disney claiming the company stole elements of his screenplay and used them to create its “Moana” franchise, according to NewsNation.
