It’s been 13 years since Barbra Streisand released her last album of mostly original material: “Guilty Pleasures,” her 2005 collaboration with Barry Gibb. But on her latest LP, “Walls,” out Friday, Brooklyn’s own über-diva boasts fresh songs and statements, taking a political stand just days before Tuesday’s election.

A pop activist is born.

Here’s a breakdown of Streisand’s new musical messages:

“What’s on My Mind”
The opener begins with Streisand doing some wordless vocalizing that nods to “No More Tears (Enough Is Enough),” her 1979 No. 1 hit with Donna Summer. But after that, she has plenty to say about the state of the union: “Sometimes my heart just wants to cry/How did we come to this divide?” she sings over the lush, bossa nova-laced atmosphere.

“Don’t Lie to Me”
One of three songs that Streisand co-wrote, the first single is a fiery plea in which the staunch Democrat takes on President Trump: “How do you sleep when the world keeps turning?/All that we built has come undone/How do you sleep when the world is burning?/Everyone answers to someone.”

“Walls”
On the title tune, drenched in melancholy and strings, Streisand muses about the walls — real and metaphorical — that separate us: “We would have that better day/If all the walls came tumbling down.”

“Lady Liberty”
Streisand may be larger-than-life enough to rub shoulders with the Statue of Liberty, but this overwrought ballad comes off like heavy-handed propaganda: “So lift your lamp and lead us through the golden door/Tell the whole damn universe/There’s room for all of us and more.”

“Better Angels”
This song might have felt like sentimental overdrive in better times. But with Streisand’s glorious voice soaring to the heavens — amid a celestial arrangement complete with a gospel choir — it’s hard to begrudge her appeal to “let our better angels be our guide.”
