Ben, Jerry & Bonnaroo
Ben & Jerry’s, which long mixed rock ’n’ roll into its ice creams, is putting a new flavor in the spotlight.
The makers of musical flavors such as “Cherry Garcia”‘ and “Phish Food” are adding “Bonnaroo Buzz” for Bonnaroo, the Tennessee music and arts festival celebrating its ninth edition in June.
The new concoction — a coffee and malt ice cream with whiskey-caramel swirls and English toffee pieces — is a nice fit for the fest since music and munchies seem to go hand in hand at this gathering of the vibe. This year the festival, that draws about 80,000 people to Manchester, Tenn., each year, runs from June 10-13.
The lineup includes the Dave Matthews Band, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Cliff , the Flaming Lips and Conan O’Brien. In all, there are more than 150 artists lined up to play the festival (along with the new Ben & Jerry’s flavor).
But, you don’t have to go to Tennessee to get a Bonnaroo Buzz. The flavor makes its debut in New York on May 4 (with free taste test that day at Ben & Jerry’s stores).
