Last week’s episode of “Glee” was definitely my favorite so far, thanks entirely to the guys’ over-enthusiastic, sped-up performance of an “It’s My Life/Confessions Pt. II” mashup. Watch it (below) and you’ll know what I mean. Everything is perfect, from the crazed, rolling on decongestants enthusiasm to Harry Shum Jr.’s kickin’ solo dance moves and the way the two songs fit seamlessly together.
If you like what you hear, you can download the mashup – and the girls’ version of “Walking on Sunshine/Halo” too – on Amazon.com and iTunes starting today. I’ve already purchased it, which officially makes me a “Gleek,” I suppose.
Anyway, if you claim to like music and haven’t at least tried to give this show a chance, you’re definitely missing out. So watch it. It’s on tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 9 p.m. They’ll be doing cast versions of Jill Scott’s “Hate On Me,” The Supremes’ “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown’s “No Air” and Avril Lavigne’s “Keep Holding On.”
And, for die-hard fans, Nov. 3 brings the CD release of “Glee: The Music, Volume 1.” It’ll include the cast’s versions of Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”
