After 15 years of buzz, rumors and stalled starts, Jay Electronica’s debut album finally dropped Thursday night.

Modern hip-hop’s most legendary recluse finally released “A Written Testimony,” his first full-length album, on Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. His new tracks sample everyone from Rihanna to Brian Eno, and feature collabs with Hova himself, James Blake, Travis Scott, Khruangbin and The-Dream.

The rapper, 43, teased the release on Feb. 7 via Twitter with a cryptic “Album done” message, and he (sort of) teased the tracklist via Apple Music earlier on Thursday.

The New York transplant from New Orleans debuted as a viral sensation with 2007’s “Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge),” a 15-minute piece featuring Electronica spitting trippy rhymes atop Jon Brion’s Grammy-nominated score for the film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.”

Aside from a few one-off songs and guest verses for other artists, such as Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper, “Act I” proved to be the last long-form project he’d release for almost 15 years.

He partnered with veteran producer Just Blaze on 2009’s “Exhibit A” and “Exhibit C,” the latter of which was hailed as a “masterwork” by Rolling Stone music critics. But frequent promises of a full-length debut consistently went nowhere.

As rumors swirled about Electronica’s personal life, fans wondered online if they would ever hear new music. But at midnight, he stunned them with a studio livestream of “A Written Testimony” on YouTube.

Electronica calls his mentor Jay-Z “the most patient man alive” during the livestream.

“I’m serious!” he says, after his buddies in the room start cracking up.

The new release can be streamed now on Tidal and is expected to hit all platforms later Friday.

The fan response is already strong on Twitter, with one diehard posting teary emojis and a short clip of himself crying.
