The wait is finally over; Rihanna is back.
The singer took to her social media accounts on Saturday night to unexpectedly release “FourFiveSeconds” – her first new material in three years.
It’s a stripped-down affair that puts Ri-Ri’s soulful voice front-and-center and features a guest vocal from Kanye West.
The musical accompaniment is a solitary guitar part from Yeezy’s new best friend Sir Paul McCartney. Together, they’ve conspired to create a surprisingly simple and reserved return for the Barbadian megastar.
“FourFiveSeconds” is downloadable from iTunes now. Although no release date is confirmed as yet, an eighth Rihanna album (the follow up to 2012’s “Unapologetic”) is due for release this year.
