Post music critic Dan Aquilante has the skinny on a quartet of new CDs out this week. Taking the top honor – ie. 4 stars – is Angelique Kidjo’s “Oyo.”

“Kidjo’s earthy round tones, unveiled against a backdrop of stellar percussion, keep things together, making this sophisticated world music for simple tastes,” Aquilante says.

Also reviewed this week:

MGMT’s “Congratulations” (3 stars)

Coheed and Cambria’s “Year of the Black Rainbow” (2 stars)

Foxy Shazam’s “Foxy Shazam” (3 stars)
