Where the ‘Idols’ at?
Now that we’re on the verge of finding out who this year’s “American Idol” winner is going to be – there’s only five more episodes left (including tonight’s show) – it’s about time to check in on what previous “Idols” are up to.

Adam Lambert (runner-up, 2009). He’s playing June 22 and June 23 at Nokia Theatre in Times Square, supporting his debut album, “For Your Entertainment.”
Clay Aiken (runner-up, 2003). He’s releasing his fifth studio album, “Tried and True,” on June 1. The album will feature tracks from the 50s and 60s, including Frankie Valli’s”Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” Johnny Mathis’ “Misty” and Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds.”
Carly Smithson (sixth place, 2008). She hooked up with former Evanescence band members to form the band We Are the Fallen. They released their debut CD, “Tear the World Down,” this week.
Jordin Sparks (winner, 2007). She’s playing Nokia Theater on June 10, supporting her album, “Battlefield,” on her first headlining tour. She recently announced that she’ll be performing in Broadway’s “In the Heights” for a 12-week run, beginning Aug. 19.
Carrie Underwood (winner, 2005). She’s performing on the “Today Show” (here in NY) on July 30 and will be back on Nov. 5 (with “The Next Great American Band” winners Sons of Sylvia) at Nassau Coliseum. It’s all in support of her album, “Play On.”
Melinda Doolittle (third place, 2007). She released her memoir/self-help book, “Beyond Me” earlier this month. She’ll be in town promoting the book from May 17 to May 19th.
