The star of “Mother” will be a father.

“How I Met Your Mother” headliner Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, will be the fathers of twins via a surrogate.

The kids will arrive in October, according to the E! Channel’s Web site, eonline.com.

Harris confirmed the arrivals in a Twitter posting on Saturday. “So get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled,” he tweeted.

Harris, who plays womanizer Barney on “HIMYM,” is nominated for three Emmys this year: one for “HIMYM,” one for his appearance on “Glee” and one for hosting the Tony Awards.
