The executive behind “Good Morning America” has jumped to a new job — heading CNN newsman Anderson Cooper’s new daytime talk show.

Jim Murphy, a longtime network newsman who was Diane Sawyer’s boss at ABC and Dan Rather’s at CBS before that, is leaving to run what will essentially be an entertainment show for afternoon TV.

Cooper is set to start his new daily talk show in September and how the news anchor will be softened for a female audience has been a big question in TV circles.

Tom Cibrowski, Murphy’s second-in-command, is expected to be named his replacement on the morning show.
