LOS ANGELES — “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” has shattered the record for advance ticket sales ahead of its midnight opening in theaters across the country, movie ticket service Fandango said Thursday.
According to Fandango, more than 6,000 of the Friday midnight shows have sold out in advance and venues are now posting additional showtimes for 3:00am.
The film, produced by Time Warner’s Warner Bros. unit, currently represents 93 percent of Thursday’s total movie ticket sales, Fandango added.
