TODAY there is a giant music reissue alert, with Universial Records dusting off the 25th-anniversary edition of “Frampton Comes Alive” and a deluxe edition of the one and only record by one of rock’s first super groups – Blind Faith.

Each of these collections has been expanded to two CD sets, both containing 90 minutes of unreleased tracks excluded from the vinyl pressings because of the limited space of the LP format.

From Sony Legacy, collections of love song by musical luminaries such as Duke Ellington, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, the Isley Brothers and Frank Sinatra are released today for romantics trying to get a jump on St. Valentine’s Day.

All of these collections (sold separately) gather each artist’s romantic ballads and use alernative takes whenever possible in an attempt to keep the music interesting even for longtime fans. All good efforts, with the Sinatra disc (recorded in the ’40s) topping the group.
