OPRAH Winfrey could be poised to turn another of her guests into a superstar a la “Dr. Phil” McGraw.
Designer Nate Berkus, who was featured on “Oprah” last season, is being groomed to host a new daytime show for Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, according to Broadcasting & Cable – which reports that “Trading Spaces” host Paige Davis could be part of the show.
Berkus and Davis were featured on “Oprah” last season redecorating Davis’ New York apartment.
Rumors of a decorating show in the works were given credence last week when Winfrey re-upped her deal with King World through 2011.
Part of the deal to continue hosting “Oprah” is for Winfrey to develop other programming, according to B&C.
Two years ago, Winfrey launch “Dr. Phil” into syndication after years of being featured as a frequent Winfrey guest. McGraw is now the No. 2-ranked daytime show in syndication (airing here on Ch. 2), second only to Oprah herself.
Winfrey’s company is notoriously tight-lipped about future plans.
“We have nothing to announce at this time,” a Harpo spokeswoman told The Post yesterday.
